Crown Royal Regal Apple Collabs with Legendary Baller Sue Bird to Celebrate Her Farewell Season and the freshness she brought on and off the court.
In collaboration with CANADA Director Chloé Wallace, we created a tactile and handmade approach to the visual language and animation for the short film – commemorating the authenticy, rebellious nature and kinetic energy of Sue Bird, the legendary WNBA player and LGBTQIA+ advocate.

THE ELEMENTS
The animation process began before shooting, creating a series of typographic sketches that could be used for projections during production.
Working closely with the director during the post-production process, animated scribbles, markings and annotations helped to punctuate the edit and were used to transition between the various media and moments in the film.
Physical handwriting assets, generated for the graphics and animations, were carried over into the Crown Royal x Franchise exhibiton installation at the WNBA All Star Weekend.
